Digital assets (crypto) & AI

I build partnerships, take products to market, and help decide what gets built next. Four and a half years of it in crypto and digital assets, most of it at companies that keep those assets safe (Ledger Enterprise), make them earn a return (Kiln), and put them to work as a security deposit for other services (Symbiotic). Since May 2026 I have also been building AI agents, programs that carry out tasks on their own, with Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool.

In crypto since 2017.

I've been in crypto since 2017, first as a Bitcoin holder who held on through the 2018 bear market, then professionally since late 2021. My path through the industry: a first internship at Paris Blockchain Week, then Ledger Enterprise (security software banks, funds and companies use to protect and manage their digital assets), Kiln (institutional digital asset yield provider, $15B+ of client assets at peak), and most recently Symbiotic (collateral management platform for digital assets).

Portrait of Edgar Roth

From first research through the deal itself.

My work covers business development, looking after a company's network of partners, and taking products to market. I take a partnership from the first bit of research and scoping through the deal itself, then keep it running over time, including through product upgrades and transitions. Most of it has been at early-stage companies, where the product and the market were still being figured out at the same time.

Translating between technical teams and the market.

A lot of what I do is translate between technical teams and the market: helping the teams building products understand what the people and firms on the other side of a deal actually need, and helping institutions and partners make sense of complex crypto products. At Symbiotic that ranged from insurance for digital-asset risk and lending services that run on a blockchain to the investment firms and risk managers directing hundreds of millions in deposits.

Content is a big part of how I do business development.

Content is a big part of how I do business development, too. I've hosted three podcast series, 41 episodes in total, including Symbiotic's Blueprints, which I created and ran myself. Guests included the co-founders of Polygon (a blockchain network) and Etherfi (a platform for earning a return on Ethereum holdings), the founder of Nexus Mutual (the oldest insurer of digital-asset risk, operating since 2019), and a co-lead of the protocol team (the people who work on the network's core rules) at the Ethereum Foundation, the non-profit that supports the Ethereum network. I've also spoken or moderated at conferences across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Since May 2026, I build with AI agents.

Most of my working days since May 2026 have gone into Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool, building the tools I wanted for myself. They run without me: several AI agents split the work, a small program (not another AI) checks every finding against its source, and everything is saved to GitHub, a service that keeps every version of a project. More on each project

Partnerships

Owned partnerships at Symbiotic from first research and contact through deal close, plus early partner research and sales-cycle support at Kiln.

Product strategy & go-to-market

Prioritized what got built next at Ledger Enterprise (which blockchain networks to add) and Kiln (which networks to offer next), and brought market feedback back into product decisions.

Content & speaking

Hosted three podcast series (41 episodes) across Kiln and Symbiotic, including Symbiotic Blueprints, which I created; regular panelist and moderator at industry conferences.

Education

Master of Management, specialization in Big Data and Data Analytics, at IE Business School in Madrid.

Experience

Where I've worked

My path has followed digital assets step by step: first keeping them safe, then making them earn a return, then putting them to work as collateral (a security deposit) that other blockchain services can draw on.

Keep them safe

Ledger Enterprise

Mar 2022 – Sep 2023

Security software banks, funds and companies use to protect and manage their digital assets.

Make them earn

Kiln

Sep 2023 – Mar 2025

Institutional digital asset yield provider, $15B+ of client assets at peak. At the time, Kiln ran close to 5% of all the Ethereum committed to securing the network (a practice called staking).

Put them to work

Symbiotic

Mar 2025 – May 2026

Collateral management platform for digital assets: pooled crypto holdings that other blockchain services can draw on as a security deposit or to back insurance and loans.

Before that: Paris Blockchain Week (Nov 2021 – Mar 2022), my first role in crypto.

Senior Protocol Specialist, Ecosystem & Strategic Partnerships

Symbiotic is a collateral management platform for digital assets: a marketplace that connects pooled crypto holdings with blockchain services that need a security deposit behind them, or capacity to back insurance and loans. I was part of the ecosystem team, the team that works with the companies building on the platform, in a hybrid role spanning business development, product research, and bringing products to market.

  • Key relationship manager for the firms that bring money onto Symbiotic: investment funds, risk managers, and specialist teams that pool investors' crypto into shared strategies on the platform. Together they had roughly $470M of crypto committed to it. Partners included Gauntlet, Mellow, Renzo, Etherfi, Re7 Capital, and P2P.org. Ran recurring check-ins and supported them through product upgrades and transitions.
  • Researched and developed new lines of business for the platform, most notably insurance for digital-asset risk, owning the full cycle: scoping the opportunity, pitching teams, onboarding them alongside the team that supports outside developers, and connecting them with the firms that supply capital.
  • Primary business development owner of the Nexus Mutual partnership. Nexus Mutual is the oldest insurer of digital-asset risk, operating since 2019. The deal required months of technical alignment, outreach to the firms that supply capital, legal framework development, and positioning against a competing platform. It also marked a major step forward in how Symbiotic makes money: the first partnership structured to earn Symbiotic revenue directly from the use of its platform. It is signed and announced, and the product launch follows on a new version of the platform, Symbiotic V2. Read the announcement ↗
  • Customer success and go-to-market support for CAP Protocol, a lending service built on Symbiotic that runs on a blockchain, with over $280M on the platform. I supported its relationships with the firms that supply capital and helped it bring capital onto the platform.
  • Creator and host of the Symbiotic Blueprints podcast (13 episodes), interviewing guests including Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, Etherfi co-founder and CEO Mike Silagadze, and Ethereum Foundation protocol co-lead Barnabé Monnot.

Protocol Specialist

Kiln is an institutional digital asset yield provider, $15B+ of client assets at peak. Its clients earn a return by committing their holdings to help run blockchain networks such as Ethereum, a practice called staking. At the time, Kiln ran close to 5% of all staked Ethereum. I joined as employee #50 and worked on which blockchain networks Kiln would support next, and how to bring them to market.

  • Owned roadmap priorities for Kiln Validators, the product that runs staking for Kiln's clients, deciding which blockchain networks it would support next, informed by my own research on those networks, the market themes gaining momentum, and early relationships with the teams building them. In all, I prioritized 15+ network launches, which at their peak accounted for an estimated $1B+ in staked assets.
  • Built relationships with the teams behind new blockchain networks early, often around the times those teams were raising investment money, to spot a potential fit with Kiln and feed it into prioritization decisions.
  • Accompanied the sales cycle for every new network launch, walking customers through how staking worked on each one, and owned the documentation and guides for new assets.
  • Advised Kiln's venture arm, the unit that invests in startups, on investments including Byzantine Finance and Mentat Minds. I am also a personal investor in Mentat Minds.
  • Developed deep coverage of new ways of earning a return on crypto, on both the Ethereum and Bitcoin networks.
  • Hosted two podcast series: Restaking Rendez-Vous (24 episodes) and BTC Staking Rendez-Vous (4 episodes), with guests including the founders and co-founders of Babylon, Botanix, Hyperlane, AltLayer, and Lagrange.
  • Moderated and spoke at side events around two industry conferences, ETHCC Brussels and Devcon Bangkok.

From Intern to Business Analyst

Ledger Enterprise is the business-to-business division of Ledger. It makes security software banks, funds and companies use to protect and manage their digital assets. I joined as an intern and held three successive roles.

  • Started in customer success: turning data about major clients into insights and helping customer success managers understand technical products.
  • Took on sales to customers who came to us, across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, in parallel and closed a customer paying $50K a year, running the full sales cycle myself. The contract was signed before the senior Sales Director had his first formal meeting with the client.
  • Promoted to full-time Sales Enablement Manager, training the customer-facing teams: challenged every one of them on product knowledge and on selling customers additional or higher-value services.
  • Moved to Business Analyst on the strategy team: prioritized which new blockchain networks Ledger Enterprise would add support for, working closely with the Product team.

What I've been building since May 2026

Since May 2026 most of my working days have gone into Claude Code, building the tools I wanted for myself and learning how workflows run by AI agents behave when nobody is watching them. Everything below works today. For now I describe each project by type rather than by name. Happy to walk through any of it on a call.

A research pipeline that runs on its own

Several AI agents with separate jobs: one searches, one checks what it found against the source with a script rather than by trusting the AI, one writes up the result. It runs unattended on a schedule, on my machine and in the cloud, and I read the output each morning.

Multi-agent · Scheduled · Verified by script

Data and charting tooling

Pulls public blockchain data and market prices through data feeds (APIs), cleans them, and draws the charts. Some of that output has gone out publicly on X.

Blockchain data · APIs · Charts

A portfolio tracker across wallets, exchanges and custodians

Reads balances from crypto wallets, exchanges and custodians (firms that hold assets on a client's behalf), works out the current value of each holding, and publishes a private dashboard.

Wallets · Custodians · Dashboard

Founding work on an early-stage startup

A product engine with an automated test suite, a written plan, and investor material. Nothing raised and nothing public, so this is all I will say about it here for now.
